The flame angelfish is a marine angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae found in tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The fish is created out of resilient Cosclay, rolled, cut and formed. I carve and poke holes while the clay is still malleable. Then once I'm satisfied with the fish it gets baked to cure. Then I go to work painting using acrylics. After the paints have dried I add multiple coats of a brush-on varnish. There is a hanging wire loop on the back of the fish that I embed in the clay while it's still malleable.
Not suitable to outdoor display. The paints have high lightfast properties but the varnish could wear off over time if exposed to the elements. Best to enjoy these wall fish indoors.

In my adult life, I’ve had a few different careers, all of which were in a management capacity. None were related to my Bachelor in Fine Arts degree. Each one of those jobs had the same thing in common: art was in my life as a stabilizer, a way to keep me centered and, sometimes, a huge stress reliever.
In 2002 I was able to make the transition to full-time artist. I was a potter first and then had a slow transition to polymer clay starting in 2015. I find comfort in making things; coming up with solutions; learning how to use new materials and adding new techniques to my arsenal.
