Making starfish was inspired by languid beach walks, and sunny afternoons tide-pooling on the Oregon coast, where starfish are absolutely everywhere. Artist Ana Obermeyr really wanted to capture their texture and their different positions, so each one has its own personality and unique shape.
They have tactile bumpy feet on their bottoms that give them their translucent color, allowing the solid crystal to refract light onto the surface they sit on. They can be displayed toes down, or on their side with toes up at a cute tilted angle.
These guys are surprisingly big at nearly a pound each!
Colors and sizes may vary slightly, each is unique since they
are made individually by hand.
