Rumi Boat Shallow Bowl

Drawing upon a myriad of influences, including mythology, history, and eastern culture, Virginia artist Ruchi Gupta creates functional ceramic works that inspire, entertain, and enchant the soul!  This Bowl is no exception - an iconic ship sets sail amidst a vibrant blue-green glaze and a formation of bold, hand-painted ocean waves.  Set within the waves, a stenciled quote from Rumi 'Late, by myself, in the boat of myself, no light and no land anywhere, cloud cover thick. I try to stay just about the surface, yet I am already under and living within the ocean.'  

Whether used as a decorative accent or as a large serving vessel, the bowl is perfectly functional, food safe, and dishwasher safe.
